About KJ Systems From a company that builds technology to one that builds the future with you.
Since it was founded in 1983, KJ Systems has worked with technology as it changed with the times: publishing, documents, databases, search, the web, mobile, and the cloud.
What we have always cared about is not the technology itself, but solving the trouble that sits on the other side of it.
And now, with AI as a new tool in hand, we are working on the Living Project — using it, trying it, learning from it, and improving it ourselves.
Combining more than forty years of accumulated experience with our curiosity about new technology, we build the future together, right alongside small organizations.
Technology keeps changing. How we work does not.

KJ Systems began in 1983 with work around publishing and documents.
The technology we handle has changed ever since: electronic publishing, databases, full-text search, web systems, smartphone apps, and the cloud.
Today we are also working with AI, data analysis, automation, and Microsoft Fabric.
Yet where our work starts has not changed at all.
- “ Could this be made a little easier? ”
- “ Could we take some of the work out of what we do every day? ”
- “ Could we make better use of the data we already have? ”
Thinking it through together, starting from a small question like that.
That is the work of KJ Systems.
We try it ourselves, first.
Rather than only making proposals, we start by using it ourselves.
Build something small, try it, get it wrong, and fix it again.
The Living Project is that practice at KJ Systems, still very much in progress.
As we grow the six Livings, what we learn there goes back into solving our clients’ problems.
